Fees & rebates

We accept private health insurance and GP referrals

Private health funds

First thing’s first: you don’t need a referral to see Rebound Podiatry. Anyone can book in as a private patient. Fees are payable at the time of consult with cash or debit/credit card.

We accept most private health funds, including BUPA, HBF, Medibank, ahm, NIB, HCF, HiF, Defence Health and more.

If you’re a member of a private health fund and have ‘extras’ cover for podiatry, chances are that you can claim a rebate on your consult. We process claims via HICAPS, so you’ll get the rebate on the spot and simply just have to cover the gap (if any) with cash or debit/credit card at the time of the consult.

Not sure if you’re covered by your private health fund? Reach out to us and we can provide a basic quote which the health fund can use to advise you of any rebates. Note that annual and individual rebate limits may apply.

We're part of the BUPA Members First Extras network

BUPA members with ‘extras’ cover for podiatry enjoy discounted rates on podiatry consults and some specialty treatments at Rebound Podiatry. Just let the friendly receptionist team know that you’re a member when you arrive.

Don’t forget to also bring your BUPA card to swipe at the consult, as we can’t apply the discounted rates if you don’t have your member card.

Medicare and DVA referrals

We do accept referrals from your doctor (GP) under the Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDM) and Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) programs. Doing so entitles you to special rebates on podiatry consults, but only for eligible patients with a valid referral. Speak to your GP to assess your eligibility, and ask them to address the referral to Rebound Podiatry.

In general, patients referred under the Medicare CDM program have access to five subsidised allied health consults in a year, including podiatry. We charge a reduced rate for these consults, which you need to pay with cash or credit card after the appointment. We then claim the Medicare rebate for you, which is paid into your nominated bank account.

The current Medicare rebate (valid until 30 June 2023) is usually $56.00 per consult. This fee covers standard consults only – any extras, such as surgical procedures or retail items, will usually be charged separately.

Patients who are eligible for cover under the DVA program will usually have all fees covered within the specified DVA limits.
