Neurovascular assessments
Regular foot checks for at-risk patients
Some patients, particularly those with a history of diabetes, may be more at risk of foot problems in the future. We can work with your GP to conduct regular neurovascular assessments to assess the quality of the blood flow to your feet, as well as whether you have adequate protective sensation.
If undetected, impaired blood supply and a loss of sensation to the feet can result in slow-healing foot ulcers that are at risk of infections. Neurovascular assessments can detect early signs of these changes.
At Rebound Podiatry, we will usually conduct a neurovascular assessment on the first visit of a new CDM (Medicare) or DVA referral each year and include the results in the letter back to your GP.
